What is a public IP address?
It's the address the wider internet sees when your network connects online. Your ISP
assigns it; it can be IPv4, IPv6, or both.
Can I look up any IP?
Yes. Open the Look up IP tab and paste any public IPv4 or IPv6 to see ISP, ASN,
location fields, and an approximate OpenStreetMap pin.
Why don't I see IPv6?
Many networks still only offer IPv4. If IPv6 isn't configured end-to-end on your path,
the IPv6 field will show as unavailable.
Is location exact?
No. Geo-IP and the map are approximate (often city or region level based on ISP
registration data). Don't use them as a precise GPS location.
